IDE Technologies’ Senior Process Engineer, Alex Drak, Speaking at the 2023 Membrane Technology Conference

Event Date: 31/01/23

Drak to highlight the success of IDE’s membrane-based technology, MAXH2O Desalter

The 2023 Membrane Technology Conference (MTC) explores how the latest developments in membrane technology can enhance water reliability and quality, revealing new directions in water and wastewater treatment technologies, desalting, and membrane bioreactor applications. Alex Drak, Senior Process Engineer at IDE Technologies, will be participating in a speaking session on the Industrial Treatment track.

The presentation will be focused on IDE Technologies’ MAXH2O Desalter, a membrane-based technology that enables achieving high recovery of CTBD, thus reducing the OPEX. Specifically, Drak will showcase the results of a 48m3/day MaxH2O Desalter demo unit in a power plant in Chile that operated for 60 days (24/7) to achieve an outstanding result of 96% recovery of the CTBD. Representatives from Hydranautics and Consolidated Edison will join Drak in the Industrial Treatment track.

WHERE: Knoxville, Tennessee: Knoxville Convention Center (Ballroom C)

WHEN: Thursday, February 23 at 11:30 a.m. EST

Drak has been with IDE Technologies since 2013 as an expert in industrial water treatment in the Process Department. He has led the process engineering teams in several projects in thermal and membrane technologies, as well as industrial water treatment. Drak has significant expertise in the field of membrane desalination, particularly in the retrofit and expansion of existing desalination plants. In his day-to-day work, Drak combines process engineering – from the stage of solution development through to the end product stage – with the development of new processes, R&D, and chemical and technical support, both in Israel and abroad. Drak has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, as well as a doctorate, all from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Additionally, he holds several patents.
