Engineering

IDE Technologies is looking for a dedicated and motivated Project Engineer to join our Commercial Unit.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering efforts in tender processes and collaborating with bid managers.
  • Maintain daily communication with contractors and suppliers in Israel and abroad to review and approve engineering plans, address technical challenges, and coordinate project schedules.

IDE Technologies is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Control Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the overall design of plant control systems, including the configuration of the hardware, software and communication with 3rd party and electrical systems of the plant.
  • Programming controllers and troubleshooting issues related to control systems. Day-to-day work with various manufacturers, such as Siemens and Rockwell.
  • Cooperate with multiple interfaces within the Engineering department. The control engineer will function as the department’s focal point, responsible for addressing any issue related to the control design in the project.

Key Responsibilities:

The VP of Operations primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth functioning of the IDE Desalination Plants in America.

Furthermore, he/she shall take charge of strategic-level planning, and contractual and commercial operation management.

 

Job Requirements

* A minimum of 10 years of experience as the head of operations field in the water treatment companies OR at companies in the petrochemical industry/process industry – MUST.

* Plant management and supervision of an organization with tens of employees, with at least five direct reports – MUST.  

* Experience managing O&M and Capital Investment budgets in tens of millions of dollars.     

* Customer-facing experience with exceptional communication skills to articulate and advocate interests and requirements clearly and effectively. 

* Demonstrated experience in process improvement and operational efficiency experience.  

* A bachelor’s degree in a technical field is mandatory, an advanced degree is a plus. 

* Ability to read basic financial reports.

* Ability to read engineering drawings and plans.

The job is located at Main office: Carlsbad Desalination Plant (CDP) with weekly visits to the Santa Barbara Desalination Plant (SBDP) and other operation sites as needed.

General Labor personnel are responsible for assisting on a daily basis with operations and maintenance tasks. They will be both knowledgeable and qualified to carry out their designated work. All work and tasks are to be performed safely and efficiently. Successful General Labor personnel learn quickly, are self-motivated, and can work under pressure in varying conditions.

The Water Treatment Operator is responsible for the production of safe and high-quality drinking water for public consumption while following the owner/contractor agreement and DDW regulatory compliance. The Water Treatment Operator ensures that all plant operational tasks are performed in accordance with the operating procedures and parameters set by company policy. Staff appointed to this position will be knowledgeable and qualified to carry out the work designated to them in a safe and efficient manner.

  • General knowledge of modes of the plant process & equipment, Operations Manual, water quality monitoring and sampling, and DDW regulatory compliance
  • General knowledge of owner/contractor agreement
  • Monitors the Human Machine Interface (HMI) system, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and telemetry equipment and reports out discrepancies
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of him or herself and reports any accidents and injuries to management

Engineering

  • Contribute to the Company’s success by applying your expertise & experience in Process design & engineering related to RO and desalination water systems
  • Preparation of preliminary Process design for Reverse Osmosis (includes Brackish water, Sea water and Wastewater)
  • Preparation of preliminary Process design for Pretreatment (includes Lamella, DAF, Media filters, Ultra-filtration, etc.)
  • Preparation of preliminary Process design for Sludge treatment (includes Centrifuge, Filter press, Thickener, etc.)
  • Preparation of preliminary Process design for Post treatment (includes lime reactor, silo, etc.)
  • The above design comprising the selection of process and process calculations, membrane selection, filters selection etc. Hydraulic calculation, pressure drop calculation, line sizing etc.
  • Preparation of layout, PFD, P&ID, HFD, electrical load list and power consumption at different at different conditions with respect to tender guaranteed parameters
  • Prepare enquiry documents (RFQ), scopes of work, datasheets, etc for valves, pumps and other engineering items with proper selections required for RO desalination projects and bids
  • Preparation of Control philosophy, O&M manual, commissioning book etc. for the execution of the project
  • To interact closely with PLC engineer to help in logic development for FAT and SAT
  • Taking part in the Commissioning activities of the project
  • Will be part of a team working on an innovative project, reporting to the department manager/ team leader
  • Participation in technical meetings, decision making, preparing MOM and coordination with the clients and overseas offices

Job Requirements

  • B.Tech. in Chemical/Mechanical / Environmental Engineering (only recognized degree from universities in India)
  • 5-8 years working experience in a similar role within the industry of which at least 5years should be in RO Desalination or water treatment field
  • Have a clear understanding of the project or bid requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
  • Possess strong communication and soft skills and be able to function independently with minimal supervision or as a member of a multidiscipline team
  • Client coordination and shall be able to perform under challenging conditions
  • Current knowledge of industry, best practices or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to Desalination or water treatment Industry
  • Experience as a process design engineer of small/medium desalination or water treatment plants with proficiency in P&IDs /PFD preparation, process calculation, RO projections, membrane selection, calculations related to water such as ph, hardness, alkalinity etc and chemical dosages - mandatory
  • Post-graduate (M.tech in any field) will be preferred
  • Willingness for a long training process (8-12 weeks) that will be conducted abroad
  • This position will require very close coordination with the process department of Israel. Therefore, the candidate should have been willing to travel to Israel for the design work to the extent of 2 months at a stretch
  • Willingness to travel for the commissioning of desalination plants in India and abroad (duration of 6-8 weeks at a stretch). These can be multiple visits

  • Following up evaluation of material tenders/ RFPs and coordinating placement of Purchase Order approvals.
