IDE Technologies Wins Gold at the 2025 Globee® Awards for Innovation
Leading water technology company honored for its holistic, sustainable desalination and energy center solution in the Water Management Technology Innovation category
IDE Technologies is proud to announce it has been named a Gold winner of the Water Management Technology Innovation category in the 17th Annual 2025 Globee® Awards for Innovation, also known as the Golden Bridge Awards®. This prestigious awards program honors the world’s most innovative initiatives, products, services, and individuals driving meaningful change.
IDE received the award for its holistic, sustainable desalination and energy center solution. The groundbreaking system combines cutting-edge technologies, steam-driven high-pressure pumps, energy-efficient systems, and integrated carbon capture into a unified water management solution. The solution is currently deployed at the Sorek 2 – Be’er Miriam Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) Desalination Plant, significantly reducing its environmental footprint while enhancing operational efficiency.
“For more than sixty years, IDE has delivered innovative, sustainable water solutions that tackle global challenges while championing environmental stewardship,” said Nilly Maik, Marketing Director at IDE. “We’re honored that the esteemed Globee® Awards judges recognized the value of our unified water management solution. Its successful implementation at Sorek 2 – Be’er Miriam demonstrates the transformative potential of this system, and we look forward to expanding its impact in 2026 and beyond.”
The impact of this innovation at the Sorek 2 – Be’er Miriam plant has been significant, setting a new benchmark for energy-efficient desalination. For example, the plant’s direct drive system contributes to a reduction of up to 10% in Specific Energy (SE) consumption and combined with its full carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) system, reduces its carbon emissions by 30% compared to traditional desalination plants. This technology has helped Sorek 2 – Be’er Miriam become one of the world’s largest and most advanced SWRO plants globally, providing an impressive 672,000 m3/day.
“The winners of the 2025 Globee® Awards for Innovation embody what it means to challenge the status quo,” said San Madan, President of the Globee® Awards. “Their bold ideas and breakthrough solutions are not just shaping industries — they’re shaping the future. We applaud their courage, creativity, and commitment to driving real-world impact.”
